CIRCLE
BASSLINE BRUNCH

I started raving in 1990 and went all over the country following Dreamscape and Fantazia events, plus I spent all the other weekends in Strawberry Sundaes! I was hooked on music. I bought my first piece of vinyl in 1991, aged 18, and I was obsessed from that point onwards.

I started to DJ with a set of belt drive Citronic’s, that was a great way to learn because the pickup on these was like asking a bus to go from 0-60 in 5 seconds. I then somehow managed to blag a grant from The Prince’s Youth Trust for a pair of Technics 1210’s and I kept these for years. I got married to Ellie in 2002, then our kids were born in 2003 and 2004… cue life priorities changing. I sold my 1210’s and spent as much time as I possibly could with my family – hobbies were officially out of the window.

Then, Covid came, the kids were teenagers and within 4 hours of lockdown being announced, I’d ordered a set of Pioneer RX2’s – I’ve now got CDJ’s and love just how much technology has progressed to allow another level of techniques. I do still think that the most important thing about DJ’ing is ‘The Next Track’ not how you get it in there.

My first love was happy hardcore, I still love it to this day but I need to be in the right mood for it now, I then moved to rave house and then to pumping house with some funk / disco thrown in. Basically, if it is euphoric, I want it!

Supposedly, my craving for euphoria comes from being amazingly high ADHD! 😊 That’s probably the reason that when I play I just go straight in for bangers, you won’t find me building a set to a crescendo, I’ll always go full on from track 1 and you will see me jumping around loving it.

I hope to get the chance to entertain you on the dancefloor one day xx
